My name is Michael Schmidt, and I reside in Northeast TN. My amazing experience with Culp Dentistry began on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Thursday, the day before, I was in from TN, visiting and taking care of my 3 grandchildren, while my daughter and her husband were off enjoying a weekend together. That evening, while enjoying a pizza together, I bit down on a piece, and my dental bridge of 35 years decided it was time to come loose. Being 4 hours from home and in need of a quick solution, I called my daughter in a panic. She called a friend from her church asking for a recommendation that could see me the next day. A call by her to Culp Dentistry was made, and they were gracious enough to schedule me for the next day, Friday the 7th, at 10 am.
I was nervous, not knowing what could be done for me on such short notice.
My amazing experience began immediately the moment I walked in. I was greeted by the receptionist with a smile and a willingness to help me with initial paperwork, etc.
I was then taken to an impressive room and greeted by an amazing dental assistant whose name I don't recall, but was very kind. After being comfortably situated in the chair, Dr Charlie Culp came in, and with a strong hand shake and a very pleasant introduction of himself and the group welcomed me and began evaluating my situation. After a complete evaluation, including xrays, etc and the condition of my gums and old bridge and its age, it was determined I needed a new 6 tooth bridge. Dr Culp told me that I could have this done back home in TN, but I was so impressed with the staff and kindness I was shown, I made the decision to allow Dr Culp and company to make my teeth beautiful again. A follow-up on the following Monday was set, and upon arrival that day, a temporary bridge was put in place. I was asked to allow 8 weeks for healing then I would come back for phase 2. Due to them moving into a new state of the art facility, my return was 9 weeks later. I was fortunate enough to be one of the first patients to experience their new office on their first day of business. I was honored to be there on that day for my next visit. Their new facility was so impressive, which gave me even more comfort in deciding to have them do the work for me. As always, I was greeted by their amazing staff and escorted back to a very impressive state of the art room where the dental assistants and Dr Culp proceeded, using the latest in digital imagery, to generate a perfect impression inside my mouth to be sent to the lab to build the perfect bridge just for me. I was scheduled to come back in about 2 weeks, which was actually today as of this review May 28th. I'm happy to report that my final visit was amazing, as expected. I was actually anxious to arrive. Most people are rarely anxious to sit in a dental chair for anything, but my experiences on all visits were painless, even the anesthesia and prep work which most hate. The final bridge was professionally put in place, and when given the mirror to see how they looked, I was thrilled. My smile has never looked better. My bridge consisted of my FRONT 6 teeth, which I understand is a more difficult bridge to undertake, but a masterful job was done.
This review is a bit long, but I felt the need to share my total experience from start to finish, especially since I had to travel 4 hours for each visit. A special shout out to April in their finance department who helped me tremendously with my insurance and payment arrangements.
In closing, it's obvious that my experience with Dr Culp and his amazing staff merits 10 stars for service, professionalism, knowledge, and kindness. Finally, a big thank you for the Culp umbrella I was given on the crazy rainy day I was there to get to my car.
Thanks you so much, Dr. Culp and staff.
